The owners of this lovely 4 month old Miniature Schnauzer puppy wished to have the option to show the dog at a later stage and so handstripping the coat to preserve the texture and salt and pepper colour was essential from the very first groom. If the coat is clipped at this stage, it is very difficult to get this back to its natural state and texture so care needs to be taken to make the right grooming decision.
The puppy was very relaxed through the process and the owners were really pleased to have their pup transformed into a handsome little schnauzer. Handstripping every 4 weeks is recommended to roll the coat and preserve the texture/colour. Also as this puppy is still very young, there is still more guard hair to come through which is why he looks fluffy and so this will help encourage the process.
